New Years Boston Marathon
OVERVIEW

The Boston Marathon route is arguably the most famous route in all of running. The Boston New Years Run started in 2004 and has covered the famed and historic route every New Year’s morning since.

The non-competitive, self supported run starts at 6:00 am on January 1st and all are welcome.

This is not a race. There is no registration, entry fees, timing mats, bands, finishers medals, t-shirts, times, cheerleaders, or mylar blankets. This run has nothing to do with the BAA or the real Boston Marathon and everyone is responsible for their own personal safety, liability, rides, directions and fun! If you you want to experience the historic Boston Marathon course in purest sense, this is your run!

The Boston Globe published a story just prior to the 2009 edition about the sentiments and the roots of this run.  All is (really) quiet on New Years Day! - U2
